No......Grigorenko was never mentioned around here since about Feb or so. Forsberg came out of nowhere. Its been about Galchenyuk for a long time, well before Dudley

With the first pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Edmonton selects....

Dalton Thrower

When asked why he chose Thrower, Tambellin smiled, saying: "DO YOU NOT SEE THAT NAME? IT'S SO BAD@$$!!"

Lets hope he lands at 3 for the Habs to pick.

I have a strange feeling we are going to see some crazy stuff with either the #1 or #2 pick - if not both (either via trade or with the actual pick).

I'd be fine with Galyenchuk.... even if I'd rather have Forsberg.

I still don't understand why the fact he didn't play at all last year is not scaring people....

If Grigorenko didn't play last year would he still be considered #2 as he was back then?

1 year tells alot in the developement of a player.

His development last year was far ahead of some players this year, IMO.

Because he's American. Put Yakupov or Grigs in that position, and they be a slippin, guaranteed.

Grigs is already slipping due to "Russian Factor". Or, if you aren't a close-minded bigot, his mono.

Or ankle injury or fact he was adapting to a completely new culture

Clearly, it's because he is an inferior Russian product compared to the streamlined North American models.

I'm not questionning his actual skill level, simply wondering how he would have improved.

That's a big part of the equation when drafting young players, you need to see improvement year after year and we can't know this for sure with Galyenchuk.

This being said, the guy is so (frank)ing skilled he doesn't need to improve that much to be a force.
